CAPSS Standards of Affiliation:
The following statements pertain to the standards set forth in the CAPSS Standards of Affiliation for Pregnancy Care Centres (PCC). Faithful adherence to this agreement is vital for the integrity of the Canadian PCC and CAPSS.
Only those Centres that agree to the following standards of affiliation can display the CAPSS logo as a sign of affiliation. | The Centre agrees to require that all board members, paid staff and volunteers agree with each affirmation of the CAPSS Statement of Faith and Sanctity of Life Statement. | | The Centre agrees to comply with each and every principle set forth in the CAPSS Statement of Principles and CAPSS Commitment to Care for pregnancy care centres in all activities during the affiliation year. | | The Centre requires that all paid staff and volunteers agree with each affirmation of the CAPSS Code of Counselling Ethics. | | The Centre agrees to comply with each and every principle set forth in the CAPSS Stewardship Policy. | | The organization maintains non-profit incorporation status in accordance with the applicable laws of their province. |
| CAPSS requires that pregnancy centres and senior representatives remain autonomous from all other agencies and services which may be perceived as having competing or inappropriately complementary interests with the purposes of the pregnancy centre. • CAPSS cannot affiliate a centre that shares office space with an adoption agency, a pro-life education agency, a pro-life political agency, or is located in a private home; • CAPSS cannot affiliate a pregnancy centre whose senior representatives hold actual positions of interest and influence with such agencies or service. | | The Centre agrees to comply with the CAPSS Training Guidelines. | | The Centre agrees to submit an annual CAPSS Statistical Report for the prior calendar year by March 15th of each calendar year.
| | The Centre agrees to submit an annual Affiliation Application and fee by March 15th of each calendar year. | | The Centre agrees to have their doors open to clients no less than 10 hours per week. | | The Centre agrees to provide New Directors Training, available through CAPSS, to each new director who comes on staff within the first two years of their position within the Centre.
